Dominique Perret grew up in a large family in rural Connecticut, the son of two Swiss chemists who had a love for modern art, music and architecture. The family home was designed by Robert Gatje, a Breuer partner, and was filled with children, pets and an abundance of home made arts and crafts.

Dominique attended art school in California and lived in the Bay Area in the late 70’s. After moving to New York in 1984, he started Up-Rite Construction, contracting residential and commercial projects, including several downtown nightclubs and galleries.

Up-Rite Construction has completed over 100 projects in the New York metropolitan area, working closely with architects and clients to execute carefully crafted designs. We work with a core group of designers, tradespeople and artisans which assures a consistent and superior quality in our work. Up-Rite works on one job at a time so that each project receives the close attention to detail and scheduling that the work deserves. We are a close-knit group of carpenters and subcontractors who have been working together for over 20 years and take great pride in the work.

Dominique has spent his life working with his hands, building, gardening, contracting and enjoying the bricolage of life and family. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Christine, and loves hanging out with his kids, Caitlin and Aidan.
